What do you do when your daughter tells you she has a costume party in an hour but doesn't have a costume? It happened to me about an hour and half ago....and of course she still had to do stuff like shower, text a million people, round up her chauffeur (aka Dad), travel there and etc . I was left with about 15 minutes to work with. Last minute DIY costume, here we come! I decided to try to turn her into my favorite animal (a cat) with the time and supplies I had.

Steps:
1. I told her to slap on black t-shirt and leggings.
2. I cut out two squares from black felt that I (thankfully!) had leftover from another project. I hot-glued a square diagonally underneath one side of the headband and then glued it closed to make one ear. I repeated the process on the other side for the second ear. I will demonstrate below using a different headband and piece of paper because honestly I just did not have time to take pics of the actual headband. I made it less than 5 minutes.
3. I whipped out my makeup bag and went crazy with black liquid eyeliner! Seriously. I went nuts.
Eyes: I added brown eyeshadow to the lids and then outlined the the top and bottom lids with thick lines of the liquid eyeliner, extending each corner of the eye. I finished with one coat of mascara primer and then two coats of black mascara for the lashes.
Nose: Added the liquid eyeliner to the bottom of the nose as seen in the pic. I added a heavy coat of white highlighting powder underneath the nose and finished off with a few dots of the liquid eyeliner.
Lips and Whiskers: I used pink lipstick on the lips and then just fanned out several streaks of the liquid eyeliner towards her cheeks and time was up.
Out the door she went! It was all I could do to get a picture snapped!!! Not exactly my best work but in pinch, you what can you do? Has your child ever done this to you? What did you do? Ahhhhh...."the Mom life."
Until next time folks, Happy Halloweening!
