Step by Step Instructions:
1. Make A Set of Roses
You will make a set of two roses as close to the same size as possible. To show you how quick and easy they are to make, I created a short, impromptu video tutorial for you guys while my husband watched football last night. You can watch it below
.
.
Once your flowers are made, allow them to dry overnight.
2. Paint
There's lots of options you can take for painting your roses. To paint mine, I brushed on two coats of acrylic craft paint and then sealed them with a topcoat of clear fingernail polish to help make them more rain resistant. Originally I had planned on spray painting them with clear enamel (in lieu of using finger polish) but it was was just TOO cold for me to go outside tonight. Apparently Mother Nature missed the memo informing her that I live in the south and that we don't "do" cold here. Aye, yai, yai! You could also try skipping the acrylic paint all together and using only finger polish in whatever shade you desire.
3. Add Earring Hardware
I hope you enjoyed this quick tutorial and until next time, happy crafting, my friends.

These are so pretty! I am not very crafty so I could never do this but these turned out so well.
ReplyDeleteCute idea! I’ve never made anything like this before. Definitely looks easier then I thought with your steps.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great cute idea. I wonder if the clay is light enough to create hairbands with it? Have you tried to use clay with hairbands or crunchies?
ReplyDeleteThat's a fantastic idea! This clay is definitely light weight enough to make embellishments for hair accessories! You could also make it any shape you want and then glue a hair clip to the back and make a barrette. I used to make hair bows from felt and fabric for my daughter when she was younger and this would be perfect for that. Again, LOVE that idea! Thank you so much for stopping by! :)
